PRESENTATION: Sustainable Digitalisation - Get onboard or get left behind

Rogier will MC the afternoon session and will provide an update on the Sustainable Digitalisation Project.  The SDP has a number of initiatives underway that facilities management professionals should not only be aware of, but get on board with as soon as possible. Digitalisation is prevalent in FM and making sure all technologies deployed and adopted in FM are responsible, ethical and sustainable, is therefore a must for the longevity and trustworthiness of the industry.

PRESENTATION:  Technology and Data Standards - The Built Environment drive to Net Zero

Gordon will take a look at the international progress towards a digital built environment and the parts this can play in the global needs to a more sustainable planet

BIO:  Gordon is an FM digital solution architect and full life cycle transformation lead for Key Facilities Management International and Keystone Worldwide WX & FM Software.  Gordon has been heavily involved in the international movement towards sustainable and digitally intelligent whole life asset, buildings and cities pioneering environmental and socially responsible places and spaces.  Gordon is convenor with ISO technical committee 267 for working group 6 - Technologies in FM as well as chairing the British Standards Institute mirror panel. Gordon also has roles with European Standards CEN TC348 as co-conevor for WG6 space measurement/BIM in FM.

BIO:  Alex Pavlickovski joined OPV in September 2021 in the role of Senior Manager Digital Build System. He has wealth of experience in asset management and system design, having worked on digital transformation projects with a number of large asset intensive companies, including Yarra Valley Water, Melbourne Airport and Metro Trains. His passion is exploring how Industry 4.0 can transform the way assets are managed throughout their lifecycle.

PRESENTATION:  Digital Asset Management: A proof of concept for an Automated change roadmap generator


This session is designed to take you through a new industry initiative, supported by the Australasian BIM Advisory Board (ABAB), that aims to support those in asset and facility management to use a higher level of digital solutions.  Join Belinda as she takes you through the background of the initiative and what it will deliver once complete.

Tom Balme, Building Optimisation Manager - AMP Capital
PRESENTATION:  Data-Driven Maintenance - Setting Up For Long Term Success

Tom will explore transitioning maintenance contracts from preventative to data-driven and will take a look at how to create cost efficiencies through the delivery of data-driven maintenance.

BIO:  Tom is a mechanical engineer turned smart building enthusiast with over 13 years’ experience in the industry. Tom works within AMP Capital’s Asset Technology Team and his role as Building Optimisation Manager is to manage the deployment and delivery of AMP’s portfolio-wide Asset Technology initiatives such as BrainBox AI and Switch Automation’s Smart Building Platform.  Tom has deep domain expertise in building services engineering, building analytics and energy optimisation. 


Adam Muiznieks, Co-founder & COO - Setmetrics
PRESENTATION:  Digitalising energy modelling to deliver better building outcomes

This session reveals how historically complex processes / workflows have been simplified with cloud-based technologies that help Facility Managers improve productivity, reduce risk and support capital investment decision-making to deliver sustainable building performance outcomes for their customers.

BIO: Adam is the Co-founder and COO of Setmetrics, a technology provider offering energy modelling and asset management solutions for the Commercial Real Estate industry. With experience spanning technical R&D, product development, sales and business development and project delivery, Adam has a broad perspective on the role that digital technologies can play in unlocking value across the building ecosystem.

It is funded by the Victorian Government, locally developed and is referenced in the VDAS Guidance document.

BIO: Carl Agar is a senior consultant with A.G. Coombs Advisory, responsible for advice to clients on a range of facilities management related areas including the adoption of leading-edge technologies to optimise building operation and maintenance. Since 2008 Carl has been a leading advocate of Building Information Modelling in Australia.

PRESENTATIONProtecting your Assets and Business from Cyber Attacks

Blare will talk about the current threat landscape, trends and impacts of cyber crime on Australian businesses. He will discuss recent cyber attacks, how the organisation responded and was impacted by the incident. Attendees will gain insights on what victims of cyber attacks could have done to better prepare themselves to both prevent the attack from occurring, and recover from the damage that was caused

Tony Vizza, Board of Directors - AISA (Australian Information Security Association)
PRESENTATION Strategies to Mitigate Cyber Security Risk for Facilities Management Organisations

In this presentation, Tony will detail some of the critical success factors to ensure that facilities management organisations can mitigate and minimise cyber security risk for their organisations. The presentation will look at the three fundamental elements of a successful cyber security strategy for any organisation – people, process, and technology – and will discuss practical ways which will assist organisations achieve sound outcomes in the prevention, detection, response, and recovery from cyber security incidents. Finally, we will take a deep dive into the Australian Governments ASD Essential 8 – the go-to guide for organisations of any size to refer to and implement to assist them in their cyber security journey. 

BIO: Tony Vizza has been involved in the information technology, information security and privacy fields for more than 25 years. His information security credentials include CISSP, CCSP, CRISC, CISM, CIPP/E and he is a certified ISO/IEC 27001 Senior Lead Auditor. Tony has a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science from the University of Technology, Sydney, a Global Executive MBA from the University of Sydney which included study at Stanford University, The London School of Economics and the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and is currently studying a Juris Doctor law degree at the University of New South Wales. Tony is also a Cyber Security Ambassador for the NSW Government.
