The Australian Standard on Workforce Screening AS 4811:2022 has just been published. It was developed by Standards Committee MB-025.


This Standard originated in 2006.

The Standard’s Scope states:

“This document sets out requirements and guidance for the development of organization-specific workforce screening principles, policies and processes.

This document applies to organizations of any type and size. It does not apply to other recruitment activities such as competency assessment and talent matching, which are beyond the scope of this document.”

MB-025 has developed AS 4811 within the suite of security and related standards that it has responsibility.  For this reason, you will find some terms used and defined have a deliberate security focus, such as credentials, entrusted person, integrity and security screening. The Standard recommends that workforce screening should form part of an organization’s risk management strategy and process.
