Expansion of the Commercial Buildings Disclosure Program

The Australian Government's Commercial Building Disclosure (CBD) program, established under the Building Energy Efficiency Disclosure Act 2010, aims to reduce energy consumption in commercial offices. It requires building owners of office spaces over 1000 sqm to obtain a Building Energy Efficiency Disclosure Certificate (BEEC), including a NABERS Energy star rating for sale or lease. The government is considering expanding the program to other building types and ownership structures and is consulting with the sector for input.
